Advantages and Disadvantages of DPC

The introduction of DPC has different advantages and disadvantages for the healthcare system and hospitals.

From the system perspective, standardized patient classifications and DPC data enable comparisons across hospitals, supporting greater standardization, transparency, and efficiency. However, the potential incentive for undertreatment under bundled payment requires monitoring of healthcare quality.
